GMPC project is one of the Flagship Applications of the Multimedia Super Corridor which aims to develop a single platform for a national multi-purpose smart card. Such a card will enable the government and private application providers to implement smart card solutions without duplications of effort and investment.


To spearhead this esteemed project, the Government Multi Purpose Card Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (GMPC Corp.) was incorporated as an entity responsible for the undertaking and implementation of the Government Multi Purpose Card Project (GMPC), or MyKad. GMPC Corporation Sdn. Bhd. is a consortium comprises of five private limited companies. These companies hold equal shares in the corporation and are each represented on the Board of Director level of the corporation. They are also the sub-contractors to GMPC Corporation Sdn. Bhd.

Dibena Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. System hardware provider for Central Issuance System (CIS/personalization equipment).
 
Unisys MSC Sdn. Bhd. Overall project system integrator and project management.
 
CSA MSC (M) Sdn. Bhd. To design, install, and commission IT infrastructure pertaining to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
 
EPNCR (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. To supply, install, and integrate Card Acceptance Devices (CADs). Biometric devices supplier/integrator.
