Digital compression/decompression of image data

security of the smart card by allowing a digitised image to be securely
stored and easily retrieved from a smart card.
By storing the image of the individual inside his personal smart
card and allowing the easy retrieval of this image for verification
purposes, this biometric technique has resulted in a simple and
cost effective way to positively link an individual to his personal
smart card. Used in ID type applications to link an individual to
his personal smart card, it provides a highly reliable and secure
